Artificial Intelligence is the at the heart of what we do at Rio. We have been developing intelligent systems to democratise knowledge for over 20 years. In that time, we've achieved a US patent for our unique data-capture algorithms and developed decision-making systems for major international consultancies.

Hybrid AI

We are pioneers in the field of Neuro-Symbolic AI as applied to sustainability. We use a novel hybrid approach that harnesses the conversational capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) and combines it with trustworthiness and auditability of Symbolic AI. This hybrid approach is what drives our intelligent sustainability assistant, ensuring users receive clear, reliable expert advice on matters relating their compliance position.

The Rio intelligent assistant

Rio’s intelligent assistant is a conversational chatbot that guides a user to better understand their sustainability compliance position. It does this by directing users through an expert consultation to give deep technical customised information on specific sustainability topic areas.

At the end of the consultation the assistant provides a clear set of actionable recommendations customised to the user. There’s no black box. Users get comprehensive, auditable conclusions that break down exactly why each recommendation has been given.

Rio protects data confidentiality, integrity and availability in the cloud.

Data is automatically backed-up daily and retained for 7 days.

Customer data is encrypted both at-rest and in-transit, ensuring dual levels of security.

Rio uses two-factor authentication password protocols, allowing users to configure/reset forgotten passwords.

Rio does not currently consume data from 3rd parties/financial systems.

Client data can be segregated from Rio data, and data access can be locked down by role/named employee.
